We recognize that enrolment in organized sports can be a financial barrier for families. Here are several organizations that provide financial assistance so all children have to opportunity to enjoy the sports they love.

Kidsport Ontario

Kidsport Ontario provides grant assistance to local children 18 years old or younger who are facing financial barriers preventing them from joining organized sports.

Canadian Tire Jumpstart is dedicated to removing barriers, so children can participate in organized sport and recreation. They assist children by covering the costs of equipment, registration and/or transportation. Applications for assistance can be submitted from July 1 to November 1 for fall/winter programs.

YMCA - Youth recreation & Sports Program - YRSAP

The Youth Recreation and Sports Program (YRASP) provides financial assistance for children and youth to participate in organized sport and recreational activities.

Families are eligible if they:

  • Have children between the ages of 0 – 17 years
  • Receive social assistance from the County of Lambton: Ontario Works, Subsidized Childcare*, RGI Housing

*Salary ceilings may apply
